ARCTIC FREEZE:

Animal-product-free garments.

Addressing the brief provided by tutors at Curtin University, this collection was designed in respect of Inuit culture and dress. Inuit religion is based in animism, which is “a belief that all living and non-living things, including people, animals, inanimate objects, and forces of nature, possess a spirit”. Because of this, the collection was designed to create alternatives to animal products and materials using inventive textile design and implementations which mimick the traditional materials such as seal gut lining and caribou fur.
