Referencing horror films from the 1970’s and 80’s, BOIBOI’s VISCERA collection focuses on the realism of practical, physical special effects. The collection aims to champion both classics and less impressive B-movies from the era, viewing the golden age of horror as a cultural snapshot.


VISCERA includes 5 outfits which outline the major beats of a non-existent horror film. The “TITLE CARD” outfit begins the collection, establishing themes and concepts. The “BOIBOILERSUIT” references the blue-collar archetype which runs through many classic horror films, both in protagonist and main threats. The “VICTIM #1” and “VICTIM #2” outfits refer to the prey of the villain, both directly and indirectly citing scenes from films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) and the Friday the 13th series, and finally the “CLERGY KILLER” outfit realises a hypothetical monster character which a cheesy back-story, ‘A priest who was exposed to a bio-hazard when attempting to perform an exorcism, causing him to gain incredible strength, regenerative properties and a lust to avenge the lord’.
